Welcome Neighbors of Fort Pierce, Florida!

| We’re fortunate to live in a beautiful, historic city on Florida’s eastern ‘Treasure Coast’. There are many historic neighborhoods throughtout the city and landmarks that are relevant and valued.

The City of Fort Pierce has been involved in Historic Preservation since 2001 when the city developed a progressive historic preservation program. This includes the adoption of a Historic Preservation Ordinance, participation in the Florida Certified Local Government Program, the designation of 6 historic districts, and a Tax Exemption Program.

In all successful and beautiful cities, the future is rooted in the past. In its second century, Fort Pierce is taking advantage of its architectural history and design tradition as its citizens find new ways to retain the best qualities of the past on the way to a better future. The ‘City of Fort Pierce’ is a seperate entity from St. Lucie County (which the city is a part of) and maintains all of its own services, including police. Home and business owners are charged city and county taxes yearly.
